Detoxification and Meditation

None of the following can be done without your Doctor’s approval and Triphala can not be taken
for several medical conditions, read warnings prior to taking.


Based on Pancha Karma do what  you can tolerate.

Add ghee 1-2 teaspoons  to 8-16 oz of warm  water upon rising this helps the liver to process and eliminate the toxins.


Reverse osmosis water is good to drink, to determine how much water you should drink take your current weight and divide by 2 and that will equal the number of ounces of water you will need.


Take Triphala : following is a brief description.
Triphala-
Technical Name:
An Ayurvedic Indian herbal mixture of three fruits
Used for:
Constipation, poor bowel tone
Available In:
Capsules
Herb Drug:
None known
Interaction:
None known, but if you're taking medication and triphala, take them at different times of the day.
When Buying:
Take only capsules. Avoid the powdered form. Two Indian brands, Dabur and Hammdar, are recommended by Indian practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine.
Dosage and Warning:
As product directs. Best used regularly to improve bowel tone. Take separately from other other medications.
Child Dosage:
Same as adult dose

The plan:
The first phase is eliminating sweets, caffeine , stimulants and processed foods and dairy products. the following phase is fresh organic vegetables and whole grains.
During the third phase you are taking walks in nature and meditating and doing self reflection.


Use a dry loofah for dry brushing the skin to exfoliate the dead skin cells, finish your shower with cold water, avoid using chemicals on your skin during the detox as much as possible.


Drink as much herbal tea as you want.
Kapha tea will help to detoxify:
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1/2 tsp coriander seeds
1 cinnamon or licorice sticks
10 fresh basil leaves
Squeeze fresh lemon juice


The Khichadi  recipe follows:


6 parts of water
1 part basmati brown rice soaked for 1/2 hour and drained.
1 part organic vegetables, spinach, carrots and other vegies.
1 part mung beans soaked for one hour in water and drained.
Heat ghee or olive oil in a pan over moderate heat. now add the spices to taste:
cumin
coriander
ginger
garlic
turmeric
black pepper
bay leaf
saute one medium onion.


Drink this tea all day long:


8 cups of water
4 teaspoons each of cumin and coriander powder
8 cardamom pods
4 teaspoons of crushed fennel seeds
2 pinches of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder (or 3 slices fresh ginger)
Mix all ingredients in a pan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and keep covered for another 15-20 minutes. Strain through a sieve and drink it warm throughout the day.


Remember to use only seasonal organic GMO free foods, avoid any stimulating foods like caffeine.
Apply ghee to the temples and soles of the feet to help clear the mind.
Use essential oils to meditate.


Each day meditate to cleanse your mind
Use meditation CD’s.
If you can take a sauna
Exercise for at least 20 minutes or enough to sweat.


This plan would be healthy for anyone however as with any diet ask your physician and pregnant, nursing, HIV, Diabetic, severe mental illness, and any immune compromised clients should not do detoxification.


At the end of your fast you can slowly add meat protein into khichadi recipe, return to your normal healthy diet.
