Do You Need Vitamins

People who need to take vitamin supplements would include women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, postmenopausal women, anyone over the age of 50, people who have limited sun exposure, frail and elderly, diagnosis of a chronic illness, known deficiencies ,undergoing medical treatment or surgery, crash dieters, some vegetarians, people with food allergies, excessive menstruating, people with malabsorption diseases.
People who suffer from malabsorption diseases suffer from electrolyte imbalances. They can become iron, Vitamin B,Vitamin D, Potassium and Calcium deficient. Even if people with Celiac disease, Crohn's and Colitis eat a nutritious diet, due to the nature of the disease they expel more than they keep of the daily nutrients. Women planning a pregnancy should take Folic acid to help avoid neural tube defects to their baby. B-12 and Folic acid are important for people suffering from anemia. I think the debate for supplementation will continue due to the fact that some studies have shown ill effects of vitamin and supplement use.
We need to get most of our vitamins from good nutrition, unless we have some of the above conditions that cause a lack of nutrients. Many people with diseases either physical or mental may require supplementation. Below are some links for information as well as vitamin quizzes.
I found that most of the quizzes have limitations, moreover they are missing information about your total health.
