Honoring Your Spirituality (Soul Fast)

This blog was written by Michele Marchese, this blog contains some affiliate links, these companies are companies that as a Spiritual and Holistic Wellness Coach I feel are good, I do get a small compensation for adding their links. The compensation does not influence my content or topics, it is simply recommending good quality products. I will add an (AFF) to help you identify the links that I can be compensated for, as there may contain in a blog post several that are just for information.

Nowadays there is no shortage of advice about spiritual practices, navigating through articles, and information on the internet definitely doesn’t feel spiritual. Best advice to truly identify what is best for yourself is to disconnect from all social media, television, internet, and people. Take a “Soul Fast” for two days. Start each day with a glass of water and lemon, breakfast should be a nutritious smoothie. I recommend Detox Organics to be added as a Super Food, and daily antioxidant.

3 ice cubes

After breakfast get outdoors for a walk, during your walk just observe how your body relaxes during this time, let your mind just observe the surroundings without thinking to much about it. This is your special time with no interruptions, do not take your phone! When you get home brew some calming tea, I like Buddha Teas, Calm Buddha Tea is one of my favorites prior to meditation.

Herbs like Chamomile, Passion Flower, and Lemon Balm are all calming prior to meditation. After enjoying your tea get ready for meditation classes.

Mariya Gancheva’s beginner kundalini yoga will teach you at a slow pace how to meditate. She is wonderful, below is a link to her website, and YouTube free videos.

Making yourself a sacred space helps you to remember that this is your personal sacred area, and is a gentle reminder to make time each day for “self”. The Mystical Moon Store has many affordable items, crystals, sage, candles, and incenses are a good place to start. Putting items you find during your walks such as pine cones, rocks, flowers can help make the area your own.

Follow the Super Foods Rx by Steven Pratt, MD and Kathy Matthews is the best way to eat healthy, detox, and add antioxidants. Mediterranean Diet is very good as well. See this link for information, https://www.helpguide.org/articles/diets/the-mediterranean-diet.htm

Pick one book to read that includes spiritual practices you are drawn to. Read that instead of being on WIFI, remember this is a detox from internet, people, and social media.

Mala beads or Rosary beads can help you stay focused if you have difficulty meditating. I prefer prayers but many chant on each bead, this is a short video, https://youtu.be/qxle7VLcgyg

Diffuse essential oils in a diffuser in your sacred space, my favorites are Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Orange, and Patchouli.

As you navigate your way each day determining what spiritual practice resonates with your soul, remember to keep it simple. Try not to mix several modalities at once, if you do it just overloads you’re brain, and becomes very non spiritual.
