Meditate Daily

Meditate daily if you need calmness, to unwind, or need additional focus , and clarity. Meditation is an important process in recharging our brain. Even 15 to 20 minutes per day can help. It can teach you patience, give you perspective, and increase creativity, not to mention  less anxiety, and stress. I like to use transformational meditation ( done with guided imagery). Most of us are so stressed, and have so much clutter in our brains consequently its difficult to concentrate, imagery can help by tricking the brain into a relaxed state. Remember there is no right or wrong way to meditate, try starting out after work by taking 15 minutes to sit down, unwind and meditate. the guided imagery and music distracts me long enough to get into a meditative state. Meditation is much like anything else we do daily to be mindful of our body and soul. If you forget one day to drink enough water you start a new day with the goal to drink more water, work mindful meditation into each day. It'...

GMO's

For years our soil has provided us with a source of fuel for our bodies. Our plants grow from the nutrients in the soil, a lot of our soil has been over-cropped, and lacks the nutrients it had in the past. With the population growth over the years scientists have found a way to grow crops faster. The crops have also been modified genetically to be resistant to pests, the scientists who designed them claim that when the plants are resistant to insects, there's no need to use pesticides, and it prevents a large amount of chemicals from being used on our food. Current research has shown that cultivation of GMO herbicide resistant crops has lead to an increase in the amount of herbicide being used. Genetically modifying the plants that grow our food causes more problems than it fixes, if the plants become resistant to pests, than the pests become resistant to the plants countermeasures, thus causing farmers to be forced to use more harsh pesticides to kill the pests, and keep the crop...

Sugar Addiction

Image
I just want to say we should have a sugar addicts support group, if anyone is interested please contact me! I am at week 3 of of my Low Glycemic index diet for information see : http://www.optimalfoods.org/low-glycemic-snacks.html I didn't just wake up one day, and say hey self let's stop having giant Coca Cola's, skipping meals (usually two to be exact), fueling my body on coffee, and Coca Cola. I was the fat starving girl, and yes I ate dinner at 9:00 PM when I got home from work.  I know I was taught holistic nutrition, and should no better,  I'm not perfect. Me and Abby from NCIS have this in common, only obviously she is in shape, and I'm not. In real life over indulgence of sugar will most likely catch up to you through Diabetes or being overweight. When I went to my Doctor 3 weeks ago , and he told me I have three months to show I can get my glucose level and Hemoglobin alc down prior to medication it scared me! http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/a1...
